Hey all,

Im semi new to the area, grew up here and now moving back. I have completed my first tri a month ago and the swim as in a pool. My next one is an open water swim and need to know where is a good place to get a few OWS in. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

At Skiatook Lake you can swim along the face of the dam if you stay close to the dam (10 or 15 yards). If you get too far away from the dam the park rangers will get upset. Park at the dam/lake overlook on west side of dam and follow trail down to water. Don't swim across the buoy line at the east end of the dam, the rangers will really get upset.

Also at Skiatook lake they have a swimming area at Tall Chief cove. I haven't swam there but I have heard of others who have.

At Heyburn Lake near Sapulpa they also have a swimming area.

Good luck

Swimming area is on South side of lake. You can't miss it. The main entrance (Heyburn Lake Road) will take you right there.
