Some one with a better sense of history can give you more details, but this is the basic version:
Chris Brown was the long-time race director for the Tulsa Duathlon. Were he not there, it would not have come to be, nor continued. Of course, he was also a triathlete; he was someone who always had a smile for everyone.
He passed a few years back of cancer, and TAT has chosen to honor his memory and dedication to multisport by designating the Tulsa Duathlon in his honor.
TAT also donated to cancer research with some proceeds of the race in the past.
As I say, that's the short version. Anyone with more history can fill it in.
