2014 TAT Tulsa Triathlon

Overview

Tulsa Area Triathletes is excited for this year’s Tulsa Triathlon! This year, the Tulsa Triathlon is moving back to its original timeframe on Father’s Day weekend. The event will be held at Walnut Creek State Park in Prue, OK on June 14th and 15th. The events for the 2014 Tulsa Triathlon will feature Kids’ distance, Sprint distance, Olympic distance and the all new TAT50 distance.

The new TAT50 distance will be great for athletes looking for something more than an Olympic distance, but less than a 70.3 distance. The TAT50 will be a 1 mile swim, 40 mile bike ride and 9 mile run. You will not want to miss the new location that will take participants through Prue and Sand Springs.

Packet pick-up will be at RunnersWorld Tulsa Thursday, June 12th 10am-7:30pm and Friday, June 13th 10am-8pm.

Tulsa Area Triathletes – Host Of The 2014 Tulsa Triathlon
Tulsa Area Triathletes (TAT) is a non-profit Oklahoma corporation with a mission of promoting and providing fair and safe competitive multi-sport events and training opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities in the South Midwest Region of USA Triathlon, the national governing body. The board of directors is charged with the responsibility of providing an environment that promotes social interaction between multi-sport athletes and cooperation between other sister clubs of “single” sport clubs in the area (i.e. swim, bike and running clubs).

Course Description

Saturday June 14th, 2014 Distances:

Sprint: 500 meter swim, 12 mile road bike, 5k run (register here)

Kids Triathlon: Ages 5 – 8 years old: 50 meter swim, 1 mile bike, and .50 mile run and Ages 9 – 12 years old: 100 meter swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run. REGISTRATION for Click Here

  6:45 AM - Transition Area Closes to everyone

6:50 AM – Pre-Race Meeting for all participants

7:00 AM -Sprint Distance Triathlon Begins   (Wave swim start)

10:00 AM - Kids Triathlon Begins

 

Sunday June 14th

 

Olympic: 1500 meter swim, 40k road bike, 10K run (register here)

TAT50: 1500 meter swim, 40 mile road bike, 9 mile run (register here)

All swimming will be in the lake in open water. There will be water support in the lake.

Timing & Race Results

 

This will be Champion Chip Timed Event. You will be given your chip race day morning. It will be removed after you cross the finish line. If you drop out of the race PLEASE be sure to return the chip to a “Chip” volunteer at the finish line. If not returned, you will incur a $35 replacement fee. Race results will be available following the race and will be submitted to USAT.

 

Transition & Gear Check

 

Transition area is for race entrants, ONLY! Bikes, helmets, and gear will be checked prior to entry into transition area. NO ONE will be allowed in transition area until the Race Director announces that the transition area is open.

 

Packet Pick-Up

 

NO TRANSFERS & NO REFUNDS. YOU, AND ONLY YOU, MAY PICK UP YOUR RACE PACKET. Packet pick-up will be at RunnersWorld Tulsa Thursday, June 12th 10am-7:30pm and Friday, June 13th 10am-8pm.
