September Members Meeting
Septembers members meeting was very loud, and a thanks to all that attended. The items the board was able to discuss was the results from the Branson racing, some info on Scott Ostrem and family, art work for the Tri Tulsa race for 2011, and Xterra sponsorship.
A big thanks goes to Jonathan Jones for setting up a dinner the night before the Branson I.M. 70.3. There were a lot of Tulsa Area Triathletes that competed in the race and we heard the bike course was difficult to say the least. Congrats goes to all that competed, and finished well!
Toby and Dee Smith
Duncan Wise (won his age groupby more than 55 minutes!
Tim and Joy Hancock
Jessica Myers – chain broke because of her powerful legs!
If I missed your name, let me know and I will gladly add you on the list.
TAT is also losing a great member and past club president (3 times) Scott Ostrem. We wish him and his family the best as they head to the sunny west coast.
We have a real pro to take care of the art work on the Tri Tulsa race for 2011. Jocelyn Wood has taken on the task of completing the art work for the race. Thank You!
The board has pulled through and rounded up a great sponsor for 2011! XTERRA has offered to assist TAT in with a deep discount on their products. When ordering a wet suit, enter a code (to be provided) and a 50% discount or more can be had. More information on how TAT members can use this discount coming soon!
TY3, the local kids triathlon club, has three kids that qualified for the IRONKIDS National Championship in Clearwater Florida. It’s a pretty expensive trip for a parent and a kid, especially with a bike in tow. We are trying to raise a little money to help cover the cost. They are not asking for a free trip because we all know the price that comes with this sport, but they have two brothers that qualified and another girl that qualified but her father is out of a job. I known the airfare alone is around 500 dollars per person. Anything we raise we are going to split among the 3 kids equally.
